302 vulnerable athletes benefit from COVID-19 stimulus package
Ministry of sports on Saturday disbursed sh.10000 to 302 athletes drawn from various clubs and federations in an effort to cushion them from the financial hardships caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The initiative which kicked off on Friday is expected to be completed in the next 15 days.
According to the ministry, 231 paralympians were the first batch to receive the funds which was directly channeled into their Mpesa accounts.
As per yesterday, some of the beneficiaries were drawn from the following clubs and federations.
Gaspo Women
kisumu All Starlets
Zoo FC
AFC Leopards
Athletics Kenya
Deaf Cycling
Hockey men and women

Agnes Oluoch, the national Paralympics president thanked the ministry for support during this difficult times.
“I want to thank the ministry of sports through ambassador Amina Mohammed and PS Joe Okudo for cushioning our athletes. I’m very happy that it started with our paralympians,”
“I really appreciate because I know most of our athletes are really disadvantaged, now they have a reason to smile,” she said.
